The Functional Classification system adopted by the Lafayette MPO establishes roadway urban (curb and gutter) and rural (open ditch) cross-sections for the various roadway classifications including major arterials, minor arterials, major collectors and minor collectors. These cross-sections are recommended for new roadway construction and re-construction of existing roadways in the MPO area.
